Guiding Fontaine at the Tijuca National Park

Last day of 2024, last guided tour of a very productive year. On the morning of December 31st I had the pleasure of showing some of the birds from Tijuca National Park to Fontaine, from the United States.

Highlights of the day among the birds were the Swallow-tailed Manakin (Chiroxiphia caudata), Channel-billed Toucan (Ramphastos vitellinus) active in the nest, and the Black-cheeked Gnateater (Conopophaga melanops). Among the mammals, a Brown-throated Sloth (Bradypus variegatus) hung between branches very close to us, something I hadn't seen in the park for some time.

Thank you Fontaine for a pleasant morning of birding and I hope you enjoyed your remaining days in Brazil
