Guiding friends at Serra dos Órgãos

On July 7th my guided tour took place at the top of the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro, more specifically the Serra dos Órgãos.

First, I introduced the Teresópolis Mountains Municipal Natural Park to my friends Bruno Dinucci, Fabrício Grigolin and Marcello Coimbra, along with some of its montane birds, including the Hepatic Tanager (Piranga flava), Cinnamon Tanager (Schistochlamys ruficapillus) and Gray-backed Tachuri (Polystictus superciliaris).

This flycatcher is a typical bird of the mountains of Minas Gerais, and has increasingly been recorded in appropriate environments in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

Then we went to the Vale da Revolta headquarters of the Três Picos State Park, also in Teresópolis, to complement the birding. We could also see a Mantled Hawk (Pseudastur polionotus) and some Blue-billed Black-Tyrant (Knipolegus cyanirostris).

I thank my friends for their trust and I hope to see them at some next birding!
